From a single home kit to a national preparedness habit

ChezMoi started in 2016 with a simple observation: most families in our region owned a first aid kit, but almost none knew what was inside it or how to use it in the first three minutes of an emergency. We began by assembling kits on a kitchen table, then grew into a training platform that has reached over twelve thousand households.

2016 – The first fifty kits

We packed the first fifty home kits in a rented garage in East Eric. Each kit was checked by hand, and every buyer received a phone call explaining the contents. That call became our signature: we still include a personal walkthrough with every order.

2018 – The car kit line

After two winters with a spike in roadside incidents, we added a dedicated car kit. It included a thermal blanket, a window breaker, and a simplified instruction card. Local driving schools began recommending it to new drivers.

2020 – Online workshops take off

When in-person classes stopped, we moved our two-hour workshop online. The first session had 14 participants; by the end of the year we were running four sessions a week. The practical demos, filmed in a real kitchen, became the core of our training.

2022 – AEDs for apartment blocks

We started offering public-access defibrillators to residential buildings. Our team trained building managers and installed the units in common areas. To date, three of those devices have been used in real cardiac events, with two survivors.

2024 – The illustrated guide

Our illustrated guide, written with an emergency physician, now ships with every kit. It uses step-by-step drawings instead of dense text, so a child or a visitor can follow the instructions under stress. It has been reprinted four times.

2025 – Community trainer network

We now work with a network of local trainers who run free monthly refresher sessions in community halls. The goal is simple: keep skills current, not just sell equipment. Over 1,800 people have attended these sessions.

Who we are and why we started

CPRès de Chez Moi began with a simple observation: most households are not ready for an emergency, not because they do not care, but because nobody showed them what to keep and what to do. We build first aid kits and training that fit into real family life.

01

We select equipment for real homes

Every kit we assemble is checked against medical quality standards and tested for ease of use. We do not stock shelves with obscure instruments. We choose bandages, antiseptics, thermometers, and defibrillators that a parent or a caregiver can actually operate under stress.

02

We teach the gestures that matter

Our online workshops focus on the basics: CPR, choking response, wound care, and how to use an AED. The sessions are short, practical, and built around scenarios that happen in kitchens, gardens, and cars. You leave with skills, not just certificates.

03

We speak plainly about safety

No jargon, no scare tactics. We explain what to do, what to avoid, and when to call for help. Our guides use clear illustrations and step-by-step instructions, so every member of the household, from teenagers to grandparents, can follow along.

04

We stay close to the community

We work with local instructors, first responders, and medical reviewers to keep our advice current. When we recommend a product or a technique, it has been tested by people who face emergencies daily, not just reviewed in a catalogue.
